On May 28th, 2025, HOPE partnered with The City Tutors to host a panel and mentoring event titled, “Career Conversations: Insights, Advice & Mentorship from Industry Pros.” Featured in the panel were Emily Eldredge (Microsoft), Beth Campbell (Communications Leader), and Susan Trammell (Church Pension Group), with Teresa Low (Brand and People Builder) moderating the conversation. These professionals have experience across industries, including tech, media, marketing, and communications. After the panel, attendees broke out into Q&As with our panelists, opening the floor for participants to network with their peers and seek guidance from the mentors.
We are thrilled to share that the event was a success! We had 70 attendees, many of whom were participants in our HOPEworks program. One participant shared that having the opportunity to ask questions and learn from industry experts helped them be more prepared for the job market.
This event marks the start of our partnership with The City Tutors, who will provide one-on-one mentoring and tutoring from our HOPE training site and virtually over Zoom. Moreover, this effort is part of implementing our five-year strategic plan, themed Home Of Prosperity and Empowerment. Through this partnership, we aim to create a Bridge to HOPE, introducing attendees to our programs while simultaneously equipping current HOPE participants and alumni with tools and resources that will help them navigate the next step in their careers.
A special thank you to Garri Rivkin, Executive Director; Michael Chin, Chief Program Success Officer; and Kevin Brown, Program Success Manager of The City Tutors, for their help in facilitating and coordinating the panel and mentoring session. We’d also like to express our gratitude to the mentors for their time and for sharing their personal and professional journeys with our participants.
It is a pleasure to partner with The City Tutors, and we are proud to work side-by-side with an organization that shares our values to empower New Yorkers to build sustainable futures for themselves and their communities.
