Legal Disclaimers and Privacy Policy

Introduction
The HOPE Program ("HOPE") is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy governs our website (http://www.thehopeprogram.org/) and all pages combined within it that are owned or operated by HOPE, including but not limited to text, content, photographs, video, audio, graphics, and services (collectively, the "Site"). Our Site adheres to a rigid policy for protecting the privacy of any personally identifiable information (name, mailing address, email address, occupation, etc.) that may be collected though our Site. HOPE is committed to the highest standards of integrity in all fundraising efforts and to the ethical collection, retention, and use of information on donors, prospects, and general users.

This Privacy Policy describes HOPE's policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use our Site. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before you start to use the Site. By using the Site or participating in certain of the Site's services, including donations to HOPE, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, you should elect not to visit the Site.

Changes to Privacy Policy
HOPE reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time at its sole discretion by posting revisions on the Site. Such revisions will be effective immediately upon posting them to the Site. Your use of the Site after such changes have been posted shall constitute your acceptance of the terms of the revised Privacy Policy.

Collecting Information - General
HOPE gathers email addresses from users who (1) contact HOPE for general information purposes or (2) subscribe to our electronic mailing lists for newsletters and other publications. In addition to your email address, we may also collect other personal information, including your name, mailing address, occupation, and other information from users who choose to send it to us by email. The Site will only collect personally identifiable information from you if you voluntarily supply it.

HOPE does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of thirteen (13). If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of thirteen without verified parental consent, we will delete that information from our records.

Collecting Information – Donors and Donations
With regard to online or offline donations, HOPE collects personal information (such as name, address, phone number, and email address) only when a donor voluntarily provides it to us, and uses it only for ordinary fundraising and relationship-building purposes with the user, in addition to internal analyses to further those business purposes. HOPE also keeps a record of each donor's giving history on file for IRS purposes, to analyze giving patterns, make more accurate budget projections, and solicit future donations. HOPE does not exchange, give, sell, or rent its donor file to any other party or organization.

As part of your donation, you may be asked to provide your credit card information. We do not store or retain your credit card information; we use a secure third-party service provider to process your credit card information which is not permitted to store, retain, or use billing information except for the purpose of credit card processing on HOPE's behalf. For that reason, you may be asked to accept the third party processor's privacy policy or other terms as a condition of submitting your donation to HOPE.

Finally, HOPE also may offer you the opportunity to donate anonymously. If you elect to do so, your donation information will be shared only with our third party processor; the processor will share only the amount of your donation with HOPE, and none of your other personal information.

Sharing Information
We will only disclose personally identifiable information we collect from you to third parties without your permission to the extent necessary to: (A) to comply with the law or in response to a subpoena, court order, government request, or other legal process; (B) to protect the interests, rights, safety, or property of HOPE, its affiliates, employees, or agents; (C) to enforce this Privacy Policy; (D) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or liquidation of HOPE, or (E) to address fraud, security, technical issues, or to operate HOPE's systems properly.

We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of HOPE (for instance, on servers or databases collocated with hosting providers). We may also transfer or assign such information in the course of corporate divestitures, mergers, or dissolution.

Tracking; Analytics
Like most websites, we automatically gather certain usage information, such as the number and frequency of visitors to this Site, including through the use of Google Analytics. This information may include which URL you just came from, which URL you go to next, what browser you are using, and your IP address – not any personally identifiable information. We use such data only in the aggregate. This collective data helps us determine how much our visitors use parts of the Site, and helps us do internal research on our users' demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand and serve you. HOPE does not sell, share, or rent this information under any circumstances. Similarly, the Site may also place a "cookie," or small file, in the browser of a visitor's computer. This cookie will assign a user a unique number that allows HOPE to save information so that the information does not need to be reentered. At no time will this cookie reveal your personally identifiable information to others.
